Shedeur Sanders was supposed to be a top prospect in the 2025 NFL Draft, but he was picked in the fifth round by the Cleveland Browns — a team that’s had its share of shifting fortunes in the quarterback slot. Still, he’s impressed fans and critics with an impressive performance in the 2025–26 preseason.

As the Browns are likely to go with a veteran quarterback, Sanders may have to wait his turn to start. Nevertheless, he’s certainly a quarterback to watch.

Here’s how much Sanders is worth and how he makes his money.

What is Shedeur Sanders’ net worth in 2025?

Shedeur Sanders' net worth is likely north of $6 million as of late summer 2025.

On3, which compiles top college players’ valuations based on the use of their name, image, and likeness (NIL), estimated that Sanders had an NIL valuation of $6.5 million by the end of his senior year at the University of Colorado, where his father is the football coach, in 2025.

How does Shedeur Sanders make his money?

The Cleveland Browns signed Sanders to a four-year, $4.6 million rookie contract. But as is the case with other top sports players, high-profile brand endorsements also contribute significantly to his bottom line.

Sanders works with a number of major brands that seek to capitalize on his appeal among sports fans, especially younger fans in Sanders’ generation. Polo Ralph Lauren reportedly has a deal with Sanders for him to promote the clothing company’s Polo 67 EDP fragrance on social media. Other brands that endorse him include Nike, Delta Airlines, Gatorade, Google, Beats by Dre, and Mercedes-Benz.

Nike’s football account showed Sanders in his Browns uniform with the caption, “Only a matter of Time.”

Who is Shedeur Sanders?

Shedeur Deion Sanders was born in Tyler, Texas, on February 7, 2002. He is the son of Pro Football Hall of Fame cornerback Deion Sanders, who played for 14 seasons in the NFL and is currently the head coach of the CU Buffs. Sanders also has an older brother, Shilo Sanders, who is a safety for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Sanders' college football career

Sanders’ college football career followed his father’s coaching career. Sanders was a quarterback for Jackson State, where Deion was the team’s head coach, starting in the 2021–22 season. Sanders then entered the transfer portal to the University of Colorado, where Deion joined as the Buffaloes’ head coach. Sanders, who had two years of playing eligibility remaining, started as a junior in the 2023–24 season.

By the time Sanders graduated as a senior after the 2024–25 season, he had broken more than 100 records at Colorado, including career passing touchdowns, passer rating, and completion percentage, according to his school profile. He finished third in passing yards, fifth in attempts, third in completions, first in passing touchdowns, and tops in quarterback rating.

He was also honored with the Johnny Unitas award as the top quarterback in college football in 2024. Upon graduating, Colorado retired Sanders’ uniform number, 2.

Sanders' NFL career

Sanders, despite being viewed as a top prospect in the 2025 NFL Draft, was selected in the fifth round as the 144th overall pick by the Cleveland Browns. He is likely to serve as a backup to starting veteran quarterback Joe Flacco.

How does Shedeur Sanders spend his money?

Sanders reportedly invested much of the earnings from his NIL deals. He reportedly spent some of his college income on jewelry and luxury vehicles, including a Rolls-Royce Phantom and a Lamborghini Urus.

After signing with the Browns, Sanders has taken a different approach with his pro football income. He told reporters shortly after being drafted that he wouldn’t be buying anything, noting that his signing bonus wasn’t high.
