In January 2018, Trump imposed tariffs on solar panels and washing machines of 30–50%. In March 2018, he imposed tariffs on steel (25%) and aluminum (10%) from most countries, which, according to Morgan Stanley, covered an estimated 4.1% of U.S. imports. – Google. These tarriffs are different and worldwide. So, prices are going to rise worldwide and the costs are going to be carried by the people and eventually put strain on governments worldwide, for the most part.
Crazy to judge the effectiveness of tariffs ONE DAY after they took effect. But TDS people grab on to ANYTHING that could in ANY WAY make Trump look bad. So, this is expected.
no more slave labor in other countries, good paying jobs for USA, already 2 time more re-investment from microsoft and apple (6.2 TRILLION) than ALL OF BIDEN'S FIRST TERM
6200 TRILLION gains in microsoft, apple coming back to USA. Glad the RED RESERVE is wrong again, the same geniuses that created 28% inflation in 2020-2023, a decline in real income for the last 3 years, AND THE BIGGEST LOSS OF FULL TIME JOBS SINCE THE GREAT RECESSION OF 2008
If trumps tarrifs are going to work it will take 4 years at least. That's only if they work and the odds are against big time. It will also benefit the average american only if the correct desicions are made when spending this extra government revenue. . Good luck with that one..
You clowns don't understand this is just the first step. Try using ur head and tell the viewers what trump maybe planning to do with the end game. Americans and amercia is gonna have to go thru some pain to correct the fiscal direction it is going. Not to mention our lack of industry is a national security issue
It makes especially no sense to put tariffs on products important for the production chain as steel or computer chips. Tariffs on consumer products will be paid by the consumers, but can lead to a positive shift in that sector if the local market is big enough. It is also better to focus on more sophisticated goods. Textiles or plastic toys are not generating high-paid jobs.
Dont make it sound like rocket science. If you buy a product overseas you’re removing food from the table of an American family and giving it to someone overseas. More exports, lesser imports.. what’s complicated in that?
And over 50% of the population voted for Trump again? Make it make sense 🤷♂️ is there no one and I mean no one better to lead the two parties red and blue in the whole of America 🤯 crazy world we live in?
So it didn't work the first time and he thinks it's going to work the second time? Maybe the only people who benefit were the steel manufacturers so why would he want that sector to profit and others fall? I hope we dont find out he is doing this to make his rich friends richer because now he has the power to redirect the balance
there was this theory that the mistakes of global leaders tended to repeat themselves every 100 years or so, because everyone alive who could remember the horrific ramifications of their mistakes were all dead. like the 100 years of (relative) world peace before world war one arising from everyone's fear of the napoleonic wars.
well, seems like the same thing with tariffs is happening all over again. it's been about 100 years since the smoot hawley tariff act so I guess when everything goes to crap I guess we'll have another 100 years before someone gets this bright idea again.
Stand up for your country American 🇺🇸 Your country is under attack… Cost of living is going higher and tariff on every trade partner ( Tariff is paid for by American consumers, don’t get fooled) This is a recipe for a deep recession, job lost. America is moving to dict$tor ship . Your mainstream media is censored and your country run by billionaires with their own agenda ( not for people, oligarchy) However, If you don’t act now, you will probably not need to vote anymore, ever. Welcome to dictatorship. Act now so Nov 2026 midterm election will make your life better. God bless America 🇺🇸. This will probably be deleted soon.. Search 50501
But Tariff is such a beautiful word. It's the most beautiful word. Tariffs will increase Revenue. Americans don't need to work , just buy stuff and the world will pay tariff for everything that is bought, so Americans can buy more and it will help pay off US debt.
What do you mean they didn't work? They did exactly what Felon47 was trying to do — destroy the American economy. This is exactly what his Russian handlers have instructed, and he's doing it perfectly.
Tariffs are the norm in terms of international trade. 'Free' trade was something that America encouraged globally for a time because it suited it's interests.
But it is very damaging to domestic employment and overall prosperity resilience because it leads to manufacturing being offshored. That is why there are so many low wage and 'admin' jobs and so few decent and productive ones.
Manufacturing jobs have what is termed a Multiplier Effect which basically means that they create market space within which other ancillary jobs grow. Non-manufacturing jobs do not do this.
Also, it will take time for the global flows of trade to be influenced by tariff restructuring. There will be short term consequences such as the ones shown in the video but longer term the true aims should start to be achieved. Once American stops policing the seas then the real fun begins.
Less than 60 days and no recognition of the strategic end state. What is the strategic end state? How many companies are returning business to the US and how many of them are critical to our national security? At 60 days that's the only metric you should be looking at.

now do the washing machine tariff…
They made 30 billion from China in his first term, oh but just cherry pick info whatever
There are two ways to solve this problem:
1. Fire the people who collect and analyze the data. They are fake news!
2. Change the way we analyze data so it says whatever we want it to say!

In a word, NOPE
Bs the economy was great your bs doesn't work anymore
It’s fascinating to see all these armchair economists in the comments, in these days.
Manufacturing jobs overall grew by about 400,000 from 2017 to early 2020 (pre-COVID).

Sounds more like greedy industrialist.
Now what did we learn class? What is a tariff? Is it a good thing?
He played and lost his fortune 3 times, anyone learned something from this?
Yeah don’t support your own country be a door mat for everyone but Americans!NOT!!

These tariffs are completely different,
What’ve we ever done to HIM?! 🤷🏿♂️

0.3% is not an achievement
Give it time. A major foreign car company just announced. They will be making their cars in America creating thousands of new jobs for Americans.
Chron it's Tyler if you see this gimme a shout
Just wait yo
This time…the tariffs come with a full economic plan to make up for any increased cost. Stay tuned.
They are setting us up for the mark of the beastie boys
None of this is going to end well 😳🚩

So what your saying is 3 months isnt enough time to watch them jobs come back home.

I don't care what libtards think. Anything he does even if it's actually good you all will still be negative about it.
If Trump supporters could read, they'd be really upset right now.
just started, lets give it some time. The idea is to buy/manufacture American since Chinese products have to raise prices covering the tariff costs

Try to pound these facts into any MAGAts head. Impossible…
