Don't believe everything this guy says he said oil was going to skyrocket but here it is now at 75$ a barrel. In this video he says hes buying gold but now look where its at all the "hype" around gold died down to almost 4000$ per oz
An investment is something that generates cash flows or income over a long period of time. Something gold doesn't do. That's why some people don't invest in it or entertain it. There's better opportunities elsewhere. Opportunity costs is a big deal. For instance, Mutual fund produces money overtime. Gold doesn't produce income or more gold overtime. Those are opportunities your throwing away if someone bought or invested in gold over a mutual fund or index fund
This is an incredibly grounded and practical perspective on why gold serves as the ultimate anchor for long-term wealth preservation. Your historical comparison tracking the US median home price against gold coins from 1980 to 2025 perfectly visualizes how paper currency devalues while tangible assets hold constant purchasing power. I also appreciate your raw honesty regarding the operational risks of physical storage versus the systemic confiscation dangers tied to paper ETFs like GLD during severe economic meltdowns. Your warning against complex mining stocks and your strategy of writing out-of-the-money covered calls to generate income on your digital shares provide immense tactical value for viewers trying to optimize a diversified portfolio.
To expand on your point about de-dollarization, the fact that central banks are aggressively swapping US Treasuries for physical gold reserves signals a massive structural shift that everyday American savers cannot afford to ignore. While utilizing covered calls on GLD is an excellent way to overcome the non-productive asset dilemma, holding paper shares in a standard brokerage account still leaves you fully exposed to regulatory counterparty risks and heavy capital gains taxes upon exit. If you want to bridge the gap between absolute physical ownership and the seamless convenience of Wall Street, I highly encourage you to check out my channel to learn how a self-directed Gold IRA solves these exact structural vulnerabilities. By rolling over volatile paper assets into an IRS-approved Gold IRA, American citizens can accumulate institutional-grade physical gold tax-free inside secure, fully insured depositories, completely insulated from both domestic home robbery and sudden stock market confiscations.
Excellent gold breakdown — I really appreciated how you framed gold as a long-term store of value rather than a traditional investment meant to produce income. The comparison between gold ounces and the median U.S. home price was especially useful because it made purchasing power preservation much easier to understand than just looking at dollar price charts. I also liked that you covered both sides honestly, including central bank demand, de-dollarization, inflation protection, but also storage risk, security concerns, confiscation risk, and the fact that gold is not a productive asset. Great message overall, especially the reminder that gold can provide peace of mind and long-term protection, but it still needs to fit inside a diversified strategy rather than becoming the whole plan.
I put real estate at the bottom. It is not an investment. Or at least a decent one. Too risky and too hard to get started in. Gold and silver is much better to get into.
if you have 114 gold coins from 1980 you can buy a house today, wouldn't stock do the same? If that $70,000 from 1980 was all in SP500 would it do better?
At 10:40 when he talks about when the US learns to balance their budgets, "I'm not trying to be funny, this is not a stand-up comedy channel, I'm being serious" You had me fooled 😆
Brian, you're being a bit selective with your data here. 1980 average new property price to gold ratio was great but in: 1978 it was 310 1981 it was 149 1990 it was 331 1995 it was 361 2001 it was 665! 2005 it was 537! 2010 it was 197 2015 it was 238 2020 it was 192 2025 it was 114
If a person bought 117 gold coins in 1981, it would not buy you a median home in 20 years. Not even close. You needed 665 coins! The range fluctuates a lot than 94-140 coins that you state.
Still I appreciate the video, it got me thinking about how gold can be used as a store of wealth and how it is impacted by interest rates and confidence in the dollar.
Eventually there is a possibility a stable coin backed by gold which it will out beat all the stable coins backed by us dollars, RMB or any government assured currency even Bitcoin! The gold stable coin will run the world economics, just imaging the gold price will up from current us dollar value. For your next generations buy gold!
