President Donald Trump doubled down on claims that the Bureau of Labor Statistics had “rigged” jobs data during a Tuesday morning television appearance, while offering no new evidence that was the case. “It is antiquated, but it’s also very political,” Trump said, referring to the BLS household survey, during an appearance on CNBC’s Squawk Box Tuesday morning. “I had an election recently where I did very well,” Trump continued.
