To big to fail was accurate but you could tell it was trying make some of the characters sympathetic when they didn’t deserve in real life. The film leaned in to Government officials that should have been making arrest not bailing out. Then it explains in the end that the whole thing was for nothing and pointless because the money the Government gave the banks was to lend out and they didn’t. Which lead to an entire generation gambling on crypto meme coins because that’s at least more honest then the corrupt system the elites hangover everyone’s head. I should know … my brother worked in finance
Banks are the engine of growth, but inhibit stabilization of the poorer classes
Obama had the feds back stop losses for home owners in 2008…equity banks illegally foreclosured on 5 million home owners and took the govt money…that was to protect the home owners
What is your opinion on Bank of America buying out countrywide. It did not make any fiscal sense to me. I’m not knowledgeable enough to make an accusation. From a lay perspective, if feels like industry people protecting their friends.
What do you think about the big short? I remember watching it in high school AP econ class and while I don't seem set to go into finance myself, im curious what someone like yourself thinks about it
Funny how corporate socialism is fine and OK (bank bailouts paid by all Americans), but when it comes to education and healthcare for the average person, no way. Worst, after getting these billions from every tax payer, the government (“representing” the people) didn’t even ask or make sure the ones that caused the financial meltdown didn’t enrich themselves with the people’s money (for bailing them out)!

LB took the toxic debt lol no bank can fail lol 😂
Economically speaking the account holders should have been protected and the banks allowed to go under. It would have cost us less.
Margin Call.
Last Days of Lehman Brothers is casted better in my opinion, although it's just 1hr TV movie

Dumb Movie is a better representation of stock market..
socialism for the rich
capitalism for the poor
Indeed, it is the best movie in this genre.
Or we could have Nationalized the banks so they couldn't have paid these bonuses. There were other options.

No offense, I worked on Wall Street for 3 years. Nobody Cares, they all want to get rich and get out. Just like you.
Why can’t banks fail? How is it immoral to not let ttt get ‘em fail?
