Spot on, but that requires you spend less than you earn. Young folks want their coffees, cloths, eating out and spend every thing and complain about the rich people.
Im with RBC I have a chequing account High interest eSavings account And a TFSA GIC account with 500 in it. I just have to phone them to set up an investment account before im able to use a pre-authorized contribution option.
I’m lucky that I’m about to be 40 in a month, have almost no bills and military income for the rest of my life that goes up with inflation and bi annual raises.
For the people saying I can’t save that much, yes you can. You just need to cut out all unnecessary bs you’ve been doing, once you’ve done that, map out all your spending, then you know exactly how much you are able to save. I’m not saying it’s going to be some glorious amount, or that it won’t take a long time to save that much but you can do it. You owe it to yourself
So it's okay to progress slowly and get to the millions over decades? I always have the feeling that the risky investments and stock purchases go faster, but I'm currently taking the 20-year route to my second million.

5 months of living expenses is $17,000. That's not possible to save up that kind of money.

Как говорил один классик. Заработать можно только геморрой. А большие деньги можно только украсть.
What high interest saving accounts are you speaking of? There are none in the U.S. currently
This is actually solid advice.
