I knew this kind of a family, where the guy was trying to earn as much as possible to provide for his wife and kids for years, and you know what? he just dropped dead on his way home from work. His heart just stopped. And he was only 45 and his kids were teenagers, and his wife struggled so much after, because they didn't have so much money saved, thanks God they had at least the life insurance. His wife should know better than allowing this to go on and on and on until she loses a husband. And he is risking his own health and life, if he goes disabled from being overworked, how that will go? He needs to know better.
Being scared of auto pay is literally insane. Also, I feel like he thinks school is the answer to his problem but it's not. I'm sorry sir, but with your lifestyle choices and at your age, that ship for pursuing 8+ year career paths of schooling is gone. That should not even be something you're considering, in my opinion.

When can we get a “normal person” on the show?
My favorite thing to say when kids ask for something is “you can ask for that for your birthday/christmas” and then I write it down on a note in my phone. It is really pretty easy. You’re not saying no, you’re saying “yes at a later date.” And if you never buy your kiddos random stuff, then they know not to ask. Also you don’t want them to know all the bill/budget stressful details, but you can say basic things like “that isn’t in our budget right now” or “we are going to use our money for our bills first.” You don’t burden them with financial stress but you make spending boundaries clear.
