Las Vegas Strip casino signs classic band for popular residency

Las Vegas Strip casinos have a history of hosting some of the most popular rock bands from the 1960s, 70s, and 80s in headliner residencies in their theaters.

Fans of these bands flock to these shows to revisit memories of the past years, and most of the performances sell out.

This year, several of the most popular rock stars and groups from these past decades have signed on for new residencies on the Strip.

1960s rock legend Ringo Starr brings his All Starr Band back to the Venetian Theater at Apollo Global Management's Venetian Las Vegas for a six-show residency in September 2025.

The legendary Beatles drummer's band last performed a six-show residency at The Venetian in May and June 2024.

Classic rock band Santana, which launched in the 1960s, began performing at MGM Resorts International's House of Blues at Mandalay Bay in 2012.

Carlos Santana and his band have performed more than 300 shows to sold-out audiences and extended the “An Intimate Evening with Santana: Greatest Hits Live” residency for 15 new shows in September and November 2025.

Legendary bands sign for residencies

Legendary rock star Rod Stewart, whose solo career skyrocketed in 1971 with his “Every Picture Tells a Story” album, featuring his monster hit “Maggie May,” debuted his “Hits” residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in 2011, and, after 13 years and 200 shows, the “Do Ya Think I'm Sexy” singer closed the show on Aug. 7, 2024.

Stewart loves Vegas so much, he signed on for “The Encore Shows Las Vegas Residency at The Colosseum,” with 12 shows in March, May, and June 2025, then added six more shows in September and October 2025.

For the 1980s, the World's Greatest Party Band, The B-52s, opened its Love Shack residency for three shows in October 2022. The residency continued with five shows in May 2023, three in August, and two in September 2023.

The band extended the residency further for five shows in April 2024 and another five shows in April 2025, closing on April 19.

Tears For Fears signs for residency

And now, iconic 1980s rock band Tears For Fears returns to BleauLive Theater at Fontainebleau Las Vegas on the Strip for six shows on its “Songs for a Nervous Planet” residency on Sept. 24, Sept. 26, Sept. 27, Oct. 22, Oct. 24, and Oct. 25.

Official Platinum Presale is underway at Ticketmaster.com, while Artist Presale begins on June 4 at 10 a.m. Pacific time. Ticketmaster, Live Nation, and Fontainebleau presales begin on June 5 at 10 a.m.

Tickets go on sale to the general public on June 6 at 10 a.m. Pacific.

The “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” singers sold out seven previous shows on the residency on Oct. 30, Nov. 1 and 2, 2024, and Jan. 31, Feb. 1, 5, and 7 in the BleauLive Theater, performing their classic songs from the 1980s and new material from their latest and first-ever live album, “Songs For A Nervous Planet.”

Along with the band's live hit songs, such as “Shout,” “Head Over Heels,” and “Sowing The Seeds of Love,” the band includes four new studio tracks, “Emily Said,” “Say Goodbye to Mum and Dad,” “Astronaut,” and “The Girl That I Call Home,” on the album

Vocalist Roland Orzabal, on guitar and keyboards, and vocalist Curt Smith, on bass and keyboards, formed the band in Bath, England, in 1981. The band released its first album, “The Hurting,” in 1983 and has since sold about 30 million albums worldwide.
