Las Vegas Strip casinos have a reputation for scheduling some of the most popular bands and solo performers in the music business for residencies.
Recent solo acts include superstar pop singer Kelly Clarkson performs at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace from July 12-27, Aug. 1-16, and Nov. 7-15; and pop icon Janet Jackson closes her residency in Resorts World Theater at Resorts World Las Vegas with six shows from Sept. 10-20.

Several performers, such as Sammy Hagar, Josh Groban, Brad Paisley, and Carrie Underwood, recently closed their residencies in April and May.

Popular band residencies rolling through the Strip include rock legend Ringo Starr's All Starr Band six-show residency at the Venetian Theater at Apollo Global Management's Venetian Las Vegas in September 2025.
Popular hard rock band Mötley Crüe rescheduled 10 residency shows of 11 that it needed to postpone in March and April 2025 at Dolby Live at the Park MGM for September and October.
Adjacent to the Venetian Las Vegas, Sphere Las Vegas also hosts bands such as Backstreet Boys for 20 more shows on its residency and Eagles for 12 more shows on their Sphere residency in September, October, and November.
Multiple performers crowd the stage
The Strip's casinos have also been known for scheduling multiple headliners together on the same stage for residency shows.
The most legendary residency featuring multiple superstars on the same stage was at the Sands Hotel and Casino in early 1960 during the filming of the motion picture “Ocean's 11,” featuring Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Peter Lawford, and Joey Bishop.
The Strip has also hosted popular singing duos, including Sonny & Cher, who performed a residency in July and August 1973 at the peak of their popularity and recorded a live album from the shows.
1970s variety show stars Donny and Marie Osmond had a popular 11-year residency on the Strip at the Flamingo Las Vegas, after the peak of their popularity, which ran for 1,730 shows from 2008 to 2019.
Following that residency, Donny Osmond in August 2021 opened his solo residency at Harrah's Showroom, which is currently booked through Nov. 15, 2025.
Stand-up comics have also teamed to perform shows on the Strip. Comedians David Spade and Nikki Glaser have combined their shows into one residency that concludes in September 2025 at the Venetian Theater at the Venetian Resort.
1980s soft rock duo Air Supply brings their hit songs like “All Out of Love” and “Even the Nights Are Better” back to the International Theater at the Westgate Las Vegas off the Strip to finish their four-show residency on Oct. 3-4, 2025, to celebrate the band's 50th anniversary.
Iconic 1980s rock band Tears For Fears returns to BleauLive Theater at Fontainebleau Las Vegas on the Strip for six shows on its “Songs for a Nervous Planet” residency on Sept. 24, 26, 27, Oct. 22, 24, and 25.
Popular singer/comedy duo close Vegas Strip residency
And now, the smash-hit Las Vegas Strip entertainment duo of superstar singer Toni Braxton and popular comedian Cedric the Entertainer have closed their 17-show “Love & Laughter” residency at MGM Resorts International's The Chelsea at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas on July 12.

The “Unbreak My Heart” singer and the comedian, who stars on CBS television's “The Neighborhood,” opened the residency with seven sold-out shows starting April 27, 2024, followed by two shows in May, June, and July 2024.

The duo extended the residency to Aug. 9-10, Oct. 18-19, and Dec. 20-21, 2024, but the promoter canceled the two December shows due to low ticket sales.
Braxton and Cedric, who are close friends, continued their residency in 2025 with six more dates on Feb. 14-15, May 9-10, and July 11-12.
The “Love & Laughter” residency offers a co-headlining show featuring Braxton's music, Cedric's jokes, and both entertainers' storytelling on stage at the same time.
