How long a Quant Trader can be in this career as Trader job is much demanding, speed & accuracy during trading hours , than Quant Analyst/ developer or Quant Researcher.??? As the candidate age the speed & accuracy may not be that efficient.

7:15 I looked up his friend and Mach industries and it's a defense company building missiles. Now I dislike being the hater but I'm having trouble understanding how building weapons is "wholesome" and "contributing to the world". The world already has enough weapons, we don't need to develop more. And if you're saying well what about national security?? Is creating more powerful weapons really the answer to a more secure nation? I don't know… we already have mutually assured destruction from thermonuclear weapons. Simple game theory, prisoners dilemma, tit for tat tells that collaboration is key, not doubling down on larger weapon stockpiles. I would think a quant trader has basis knowledge on game theory and would understand why stockpiling weapons fundamentally isn't optimal. Anyways, I'm just confused how someones life calling is building weapons…lets try not to use our genuis to k1ll kids in the middle east, huh?

quick question, do you think Compuational physics is a good starting point for quant? i know math+compsci / advanced applied math (msc) degrees are the normal path, I was hoping to do computational physics undergrad supplemented with stats and a couple of languages, python, R, C++.

The moment he said he’s from Virginia, I knew what high school he’d gone to. Highly impressive, but even knowing about quant in high school, having a big math team, et cetera is circumstantial, so don’t feel down if you’re late to the game.

From my experience, most people that end up successful in such industries are those who genuinely like their jobs and mostly do it for the thrill, their aim isn't to earn a shit ton of money, money just comes along
