The biggest lesson I learned in 2024 about the stock market is that nobody knows what will happen next, so practice some humility and low a strategy with a long-term edge|
I'm new to investing, and l've lost over $82,000 trying out strategies I found in online tutorials. I would sincerely appreciate any recommendations on investments you have.
Hey Toby. Great video. Ironically I moved to trading 212 from Barclays stockbrokers about 4 years ago and have never looked back, as I've got into ETF's in the last couple of years and I'm loving the generally constant growth and regular dividends, definitely the way forward! I love that buying ETF's avoids stamp duty as well !! Nothing to pay just money to be made!! I'm not sure that any ETF fees have ever been charged to my 212 account ?! Keep up the good work
Brilliant video as always, and yeah it’s true initially it’s like watching paint dry. You invest then nothing just waiting till the next month to invest another sum. I also like to buy silver additionally to index. And spend the time in between to do some studying into investing, such as also watching videos and reading. Doing the studying which isn’t to difficult to understand helps to remind and reassure yourself why it is your investing and why it’s important. Helps keep the mind on the bigger picture.
In Trading212, you can "Switch to Practice" mode first and try different portfolios (or "pies") without spending any money. For example, one pie for a 1-fund global index like VWRP, FWRG, ACWI or SSAC; or S&P 500 like VUAG or VUSA(most popular), IGUS (hedged), S5SD (ESG-screened) or SPXL (cheapest). A 2-fund pie may include a growth ETF like XNAQ, EQGB or IITU. A 3-fund pie may add a dividend ETF like VHYG or UKDV.
Might be good to use justetf to "do your own research " about these ETFs.
Stock isa is permanently in the red no matter how much is put into the s&p500 and ftse all world so in other words I've just wasted a load of money for nothing
Is keeping 7k and putting £400 a month into monza savings account worthwhile at 3.25% plus i don't want to lose money just a bit of nest egg for me. Newcomer thanks 👍
Getting into investing without sufficient knowledge deems one's chances of being profitable at an inherently high rate because it is risky and requires a considerable amount of skill. 58 here with 19 months in the market. $67k saved, debts cleared, and a portfolio just shy of a quarter million. It's been worth the effort so far. Good video, mate.
As always top quality content! Started my investing journey based on all your videos. A sincere thanks for being so honest. That's the best thing about you! Keep winning mate! God bless…

Presumably this is based on long term holds?

Fantastic video. What other research should I do before I get started aside from watching this video?

Great video.
Just started my investment journey for my retirement at age (43)
I've gone
VUSA 50%
EQQQ 25%
FTWG 15%
SGLN 10%
Is this safe to set and forget for the next 20 years?
Any feedback would be very much appreciated.
I'm just getting started with investing and it's a minefield but this is one of the simplest explanations I've seen. Thank you
I'm already old. Is a 10-year investment worth doing?
Sound, solid advice, thank you for your insight and dedication in teaching others what you've learnt over the years

Could engaging in forex or crypto trading provide a stable financial future?
