There is some engineering disciplines that are oversatured too. MechE,ChemE and Aero to name some. In 2022 there was 21k jobs for chem engineering IN TOTAL of the entire U.S. but 13k graduates. I think a big problem is people going into the oversatured engineering majors. Meanwhile electrical and civil is actually in demand.
More people becoming rich = more demand for finance and law its fucking simple, on the other hand the tech industry has hit full rock bottom with the lay offs and oversaturation.
The people that make stuff are made to do all the work, get talked down to , are the first to be let go during layoffs, and get shit pay. It’s 2024, you can’t emotionally blackmail people into screwing themselves over anymore. People will do whatever it takes to put food on the table.
Unfortunately greed will not change that ideal. Easier to make wealth ambulance chasing and getting lucky in the markets. So much harder being an innovator like yourself Mr Musk. Unfortunate but true.

In my country Philippines there are few who make it to law jobs and more financial frauds. That's why I study both, I don't trust the system.
