Typically, I don’t celebrate milestones with a post, but the S$500K threshold feels significant. That’s halfway to a million dollars. Of course, reaching the S$1M milestone would be great but along the way on this investing journey, that has not been the ultimate goal. We have been given these resources to be used in a responsible manner.
What really surprised me and a takeaway I would like to share is the speed in which the portfolio grows. I would think the growth is mostly due to the magic of compounding but I can’t be sure. Our contributions to the portfolio have also increased as our income increased but not by much since our expenses have also increased.
In comparison, the S&P 500 has also been rallying since 2023, so that also contributes to the pace of the portfolio value increase.
