Purchasing a stock may seem straightforward, but selecting the correct stock without a proven strategy can be exceedingly challenging. I've been working on expanding my $210K portfolio for a while, and my primary obstacle is the lack of clear entry and exit strategies. Any advice on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
If dividends in your late 50s and 60s is what you want, GROWTH is the way to go. Just doing VOO for 30 years would near triple SCHD returns. Add some VGT or SCHG, you'll be even higher 4x or 5x those returns. Then you can switch over to dividends with an even higher balance.
"I've been working with Landra Lilly Macy for several years now, and I can confidently say they're a truly legitimate and reliable broker. They've been instrumental in helping me and my family navigate [e.g., investment planning, real estate transactions], always providing sound advice and personalized service. What makes Landra Lilly Macy stand out is their commitment to transparency and ethical practices. They're always willing to answer my questions and provide clear explanations. To verify their legitimacy, I did my own research online, and I recommend you do the same.
The most spam in a comment section I have ever seen. Be responsible and clean it up. My lord, you are leading lambs to wolves, playing with peoples lives. I can’t watch this go down. Good luck though.
SCHD is a solid choice for dividend investors, especially in uncertain markets. With its consistent dividend growth and solid track record, it feels like a reliable long-term hold. I’m focusing on ETFs like SCHD to balance growth with stability, especially as we navigate the impacts of rising interest rates.
SCHD outperformed VTV over 5 and 10 years and is very low cost. Just had bad luck this year. Many of us have a boatload in the S&P500 index in 401k's, so not having apple, Microsoft etc as top holdings (if at all) in SCHD is a good thing. Still have the bulk of my $500k portfolio in SCHD.
Wtn, you are assuming an 8% ROR on top of the dividends for 3 DECADES. Using an 8% return for the S&P500 when calculating a retirement nest egg is already borderline malpractice. Zoom out and tell me with a straight face SCHD price appreciates over 8% consistently.
This sounds great! Love that calculator. Question though, the annual contribution is every year for the next 30 years? Or is the calculation only for the first year?
Investing Is more than reading quarterly reports. Learnt this from reading Peter Lynch's book. I believe there are people who do this for a living, and I just delegate the task to these professionals. That's how I make money from the market to be honest..
I just sold a property in Orange County and I'm thinking to put the cash in stocks, I know everyone is saying its ripe enough, but Is this a good time to buy stocks? How long until a full recovery? How are other people in the same market raking in over $450k gains within months, I'm really just confused at this point.

Hello. Thanks for the info. Due to the fees that my bank charges it would be better for me to do a lump sum purchase of the stock every month

This ETF is worth $28.46 today 3/9/25. Did it split or it lost value?

SCHD is 30% of my portfolio, and I’m considering growth stocks. Should I use my $15K to buy more SCHD or diversify?
When I searched for SCHD the current price is $28.21 … am I missing something? Thanks
I believe AI is poised to enter a new phase, and I aim to position my $200k investment portfolio to capitalize on significant gains.
